Don't forget Appalachian State University. If you are an outdoors person, it is almost unbeatable. And they have the friendliest student body of any college I have ever heard of. I heard about this school from somebody who was working at an outdoor school. Now I am about to graduate from app, and I have loved my entire college career.
If App State isn't for you, that's fine, but don't under estimate the importance of choosing a school that fits you as a person. If you go to the wrong kind of school, you will be unhappy, and less successfull than you otherwise would be.
I would be happy to answer any other questions you might have if you PM me.
Good Luck,
Greg
