Yeh... it was a disgusting show. I'll give you that Thompson is a great judge of 2nd tier offensive talent, but i think he's way over-rating Rodgers. The only thing we really know about Rodgers is that he is fragile. Thompson also traded away Corey Williams to make way for another #1 pick, Justin Harrell. Harrell promptly blew out his back and looks like a complete bust.

My suspicion is that Thompson and/or McCarthy pushed Favre out at the end of 2007 to get their guy in. I don't think it sat well with Favre, who later decided to fight it, and that's what produced the drama. The "tampering", team mobile phone, and the waffling stories were false and later retracted, but they had their effect. The mood in Wisconsin is very anti-Favre. The newspapers and fans seem to be angry that Favre fought back.

I was mildly curious about Rodgers and the team until this crap came out. Now i'm hoping for the fans turn on Thompson and McCarthy, which will happen if Rodgers tanks and/or Favre has a year like last year.
