What you described is the basics of phishing, and "the right hacker could manipulate the link" doesn't really justify how easy it is. It's not hacking, just weak social engineering and praying on fools.

But maybe I'm a fool, because I got a 20% on that test. I thought it was horrible. The only way to tell is to right click the link to see whether it actually goes to the site or not... very confused on what this test is supposed to teach.
