For a vacation, I'd go PSP for sure.. just cause, you can watch movies, listen to music and play games...
PSP is more versatile in my opinion.. perfect for vacations..
DS i find is more of a at home, pick up and go kind of system..
depending on your attention span, if shorter go PSP, if longer go DS.
