I wouldn't waste my money on a cell phone. They're just a passing fad in my opinion. In 5 years, they'll go the way of the pager and everyone will be using ESP.
But, if you insist on throwing your money away on a gimmick, I'd suggest Alltel. I remember them receiving the best ratings in Consumer Reports for the Chicago area.
But again, it's just a fad.
