It's something natural, pleasurable, and in many cases, beautiful. Compared to other western societies, however, religious morality is firmly entrenched in United States soil, and it shows in our laws and in how certain subjects are viewed. Sexuality and prostitution are linked, and they're both unfortunate casualties of moral conservative gunfire.
When gruesome violence is considered less offensive than a bare breast, something is seriously wrong.

It's funny you mention breast feeding. I live in Mexico, currently. I had a slice today at Costco for lunch. Believe it or not Costco pizza is some of the better pizza down here (not saying much.) Anyway, as I walked toward the counter I noticed a lady seated at a table, she dropped the front of her dress to her waist. Caught me off guard, just popped both her ladies out. I didn't see the baby she had in her lap at first. Pretty common down here. For some reason, undoubtedly due to my up bringing, it makes me a little uncomfortable. I just sit so it's behind me and out of my view. Guess we all have crap programed and wired into our heads.
I didn't think about it much until you brought it up, wonder why something so natural would make people feel uncomfortable?
