This may turn out to be interesting.
Couple people on the PS3 forums seem legit, and I think the question is too technical for the "tards" to troll on it, general consensus is my data is gone, however, a couple people are stating that if I use the drive on a 'nix system I would be able to copy it over from the 60hdd to the 80 and it would work.
Too bad I only run Windows systems.
