I've found that I read a lot on the Internet--and all manner of things, including super long fanfiction stories and series of stories that will go on for thousands of pages. I have no trouble doing deep reading beyond the computer, and do so frequently. Of course, I have a degree that more or less trained me to do that. Given the work that I do (childcare), I often have time to myself after the kids have gone to bed, and what do I do with that time? I read and I write. But those two activities have always been a priority for me, as has thinking critically; I can see how that could be different for someone else, and how the Internet could negatively affect someone else's ability to read and process information.
