That's the thing about Portland--there are all these strange little pockets of old neighborhoods and even old towns that have sort of been swallowed up by the larger urban monster of PDX. Sellwood is definitely one of those old funky places. I'm sure you'll like it--and before too long, the City of Portland is planning to extend serious public transportation down that way, not just buses:
