The Republic of Doose is a small, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its burgeoning fat cat population. The large government juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Social Welfare, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 28%, but much higher for the wealthy. A substantial private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Pizza Delivery and Book Publishing.

Crime is moderate. Doose's national animal is the fat cat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the rand.
