I've done both types of places and learned to go with my gut.
I went for the place that made me feel like I was home, regardless of the commute and I found a bit more cash to live somewhere that was me.
That being said, trust your gut.
One of those places feels more like home when you're inside it.
Live there as long as finances and safety allow it.
