- I'm not sure where you've read problems about Zalmann coolers, but I've used both the 9500A and most recently (currently, actually) the 7500 low-profile coolers and they work amazingly well. Zalmann is well-known in the gaming community. *shrug*
- That mobo is way $$$. What features does it have that makes you want to go that route? I think the intel chipset is fine, I have one as well with an nVidia GPU. I've done the SLI thing and didn't think I'd do it again, so I didn't care about Crossfire vs. SLI support.
- Vista 64-bit runs games great, and going with 8GB of RAM is the most amazing upgrade I've ever had. Even Vista can't suck up much more past the normal amount. Games run great, even with background processes going strong. I was running THREE instances of WoW on full graphics settings at 1920x1080 and there was no hiccup in any of them, windowed or full screen. I HIGHLY recommend it for the 8GB alone.
- Great CPU choice! Good optical choice!
- The nine hundred is an AWESOME case but my god is it massive. If you decide to look into something a LITTLE smaller, but still with plenty of room, check out Antec's Solo case
- You may want to check out the WD Raptor 10k RPM drives for your OS and games. I have 2x250GB drives for storage and 2x150GB Raptors for OS, apps and games. It really does make a difference.
- I agree with building it yourself. Doesn't take long, let's you get faimilar with all the parts, makes upgrading easier later on.
- Compare prices at Newegg... most items are cheaper there. The only obvious one that is not are your hard drives, but I don't wonder if it's a typo having 500GB 7200.11 drives at that price rather than 7200.10
