I did some quick research and finalizing only takes a few seconds to pop it straight into the DVD player. We ended up buying the camcorder jewels linked to. Best Buy had it for $300 (while it was still $350 two days before).
Also, these new cameras seek empty space no matter where you stopped and go from there.
