I bought a refurbished 32" Vizio LCD HDTV from www.Newegg.com for $450 about eight months ago, and I'm still happy about the purchase. Didn't seem used at all, worked perfectly out of the box, except for a small cluster of four or five dead pixels on the far right edge of the screen. The dead pixels are nearly impossible to notice unless you're sitting three feet away from the TV or you're looking for them. Playing console games in HD is vastly different from standard definition, and it's really hard to go back once you've gone HD. I still cringe sometimes when I play the Wii with its measly 480p.

So yeah, refurbished isn't a bad option when HDTV shopping... Retail stores will charge $200 more for a new product that just works the same as a refurb. If you're looking to save a little money, it's not a bad option. I rarely buy electronics from stores anymore, all the good deals are online.
