Strange Famous

I guess you know this, but Orwell picked 1984 because he wrote it in 1948, so it is simply an arrangment of numbers. He knew by then I think that he was dying, and wanted to write his big political novel - against Stalin and Hitler and Churchill and all authority.

I always liked Burmese Days best though, although it is perhaps the saddest book Ive ever read.
