I certainly wouldn't categorize Barak's support of Israel as extreme. The way I read his statements is that he is merely committed to the notion of Israel as a key strategic ally and the idea that the Jewish people need a free and secure State. Absent the ally aspect of Israel, his statements about Palestinians (generally; I don't necessarily mean extremist factions) are extremely similar and I equally don't read them as extreme, especially in relation to each other. Finally, speaking relatively, he appears far less 'extreme' in his support of Israel than other politicians, including the other candidates. Again, that isn't to say he isn't supportive, just not 'extreme'.
