There is an Audubon sanctuary near my house that protects a wonderful sphagnum moss bog.

The Picther Plants abound there and when I visit I always take an eyedropper and a magnifying glass with me that I use to examine whatever insects the plants happen to be digesting at the moment.
Each month there is something new blooming around the bog. My favorite time is late summer when the wild blueberries are plentiful.
I visited recently just to see the brilliant magenta rhodora flowers that bloom in May. These are wild rhododendrons.
