I have a very high sex drive, and when I am not in a relationship, I almost always crank one out on a daily basis. Even when I am in a relationship, I usually crank one out once a week or so. I couldn't imagine really quitting, or why I would want to.
When I was a bit younger-- mid-20s-- I did try quitting for about six weeks or so, in an experiment with a more ascetic form of Jewish observance. I found out that I am not at all made for asceticism, and that if I go for six weeks without giving the weasel a heimlich, I get unbelievably irritable, have trouble concentrating, can't stop thinking about sex (the dirtier the better), and end up walking around with a constant hard-on.
My uncle says, "If God didn't want you to jerk off, your hands would grow right out of your shoulders." I agree with him. Masturbation is awesome.
And as Woody Allen says, "Don't knock masturbation: it's sex with someone I love."
