I absolutely loved Land of the Lost and Sigmund and the Sea Monster as a kid. Thank you for the clips Charlatan, I had
completely forgotten about Wonderbug and Dr. Shrinker, which I also loved! They almost tainted my memories though, seeing how crappy the production was, just below Clash of the Titans.
I guess we kids had low expectations (not that there was much better effects out there before Lucus and Star Wars).
I'm highly skeptical of Will Ferrell being able to "not" be Will Ferrell in this movie though, seems like poor casting to me. I haven't seen Stranger than Fiction though so I can't speak to his range.
