If if was someone who I used for political purposes and then, belatedly threw under the bus, for political purposes, you might have a valid point too.

You may not like peoples response to the question, but thats not what you were referring to. You couldn't believed they asked the question in the first place. Since its a simple survey there is nothing wrong with asking the question.

Patriotism is something openly made fun of by some members of the left, or warped to any action is 'patriotic' as long as there is a political motivation.

I think its a guilty conscious reacting to the question more than a disgust over someone asking the question.
