I have a friend that trained with the same CFI and he has almost no time under the hood so I can't say my training is typical for everyone.
The flying part isn't a big mystery to me. I've been around aviation for most of my life. Developing a disciplined scan and better coordinating my climbing and descending turns is more of a challenge, so that's been the focus.
