Okay, I want to buy my girlfriend a pepper spray. I checked the local law, and as usual, Illinois doesn't fail to disappoint. It is legal to carry a pepper spray anywhere in the state except Chicago. Great!
I was going to buy one from pepperface.com
I have contacted them and here is the reply I got:

Hello LoganSnake,
Thanks for your interest in Pepperface.com. We do sell our products to a lot of customers online in Chicago and we have retail accounts as well that sell our Palm Defenders in Chicago. We believe that we do not fall under the city band and Chicagoans can carry the Palm Defender. Last summer there was a project in the city of Chicago called " Project Purple Chicago" which local Alderman supported the project and our product to help generate awareness for violence against women. The project was a success and was covered by a Chicago media and press. I hope this bit of information does help with your decision and thanks again for your interest in Pepperface.com.
Best,

So, does that mean that pepperface Palm Defenders do not fall under the law since they were publicly supported?
