ALL of our kitchen supplies were selected by me. I'm the one who cooks, and I basically got to tell her that I'd listen to her input and then chose what I wanted anyway. It didn't go over so well at the time, but she's since come around to the idea that the cherry pitter, fish spatula for the grill, wok and good knives are all much better than the flashy things she wanted.
Unless she plays golf, you're not going to have much luck there. Most women won't buy golf supplies, and let's face it, women buy the wedding gifts. My advice is to figure out what stuff the two of you benefit from that you end up doing and find the right retailer with a registry. If that doesn't work, you can always pretend that the scanner gun is a laser tag gun and have fun in housewares at Macy's.
