And just as you are insulted by my implication that this helps legitimize violence against women, I am insulted that you and others do not see any connection between the media we watch and our perception of it.
My intent is not to insult you, only to demonstrate that these "jokes", whether it's "I'd hit it" or "Haha, you could've gotten raped in the butt"
have an effect on our collective perceptions of things. When "being raped" is funny, it's a lot harder to look at it as the serious thing that it really is.
