My father had a friend who would do that, but he would undo the muffler of the mower and deliberately keep it aimed at the offending house as much as possible.
And I had an online acquaintance who was dealing with a very loud party once. Cops even came out earlier that night, nothing was really done other than a verbal warning. Within 30 minutes, it was right back to where it was. That was when he snuck around back behind the party place and shot off a few rounds from his .357. Neighbors promptly called the cops telling them "shots fired". Within minutes, the party was shut down, the house and everyone was searched, and various peoples were arrested.
