Chickens are very territorial birds. When I was a lad I used to visit my friend on his farm and would get roped into helping with the chores. I had to be careful in the chicken coop, because there was a rooster named Milo; he couldn't have been more than 8" tall and weighed maybe two pounds, but he'd peck the hell out of my shins if I gave him the opportunity.
Also, rabbits are pretty stupid. Don't over-estimate them.
