The use of "like" doesn't bother me in everyday conversation, but it drives me crazy in the context of public speaking. Nothing drives me more insane than someone giving a speech or presentation and saying "like" in every phrase, clause, or sentence. It really disturbed me in one of my teacher training courses to find how many of my fellow students used "like" in speeches/presentations; it's a bad verbal habit they're going to pass on to their future students.
