- Do you love cooking?
No, I currently do not like cooking at all. Its almost a rebellious act. I will do just about anything not to cook. The once enviable cook is gaining a rep as a neer-do-well kitchen rat.
- Do you like cooking any more when you cook for others?
Yes, but not a whole lot more. It does bring me joy in having everyone together.
- Do(es) your significant other(s) enjoy cooking?
I have no SO.
- Do you feel obligated to cook, and does this taint your experience?
No, I have left the shame behind and blatantly let the world know that I no longer cook.
- If you do not cook, is it because you don't know how, or because it simply doesn't suit you?
It doesnt suit me at this time.
- How does your role in the kitchen differ from that of your mother? Grandmother?
Im not sure about my mother. I always think of Mom as a great cook, but I wonder if she didnt feel more the way that Im feeling now - just a little bit rebellious and opted for the easy way sometimes, particularly after she was widowed. I think my grandmother probably opted for the same as she got older, but in a less modern way - perhaps a simple meal of sliced tomatoes if it were summer.
