I would have accepted the answer regardless of his reply, was just curious what the differences were.

That's my new fact for today, then. I thought of the Hawker Hurricane, but discounted it because I'd never heard it referred to as a Crossfire Hurricane. Now I know better.
Asking a bunch of music nerds about WWII aircraft may not make for as much of a gimme as you'd think.
