it's trendy to wait to have kids until you've "lived it up", but i know a lot of parents whose kids will still be in college when they (the parents) are supposed to be retired.
Do the math: If you have your first kid at, say, 35, and another at 37 or 38, your kids won't even be out of high school until you're 56.
Add to that the fact that if your kids wait until THEY are 35 to have kids, you pretty much won't enjoy many years of being a grandparent.
