On the Mayan calendar known as the "long count" that date is presented by 13.0.0.0.0. For years it was believed that the Mayas believed this would be the end of the world as currently known. Recent studies and digs have revealed this is not at an accurate interpretation of 13.0.0.0.0. More likely it is simply that's when the calendar starts over, much like your cars odometer.
