Sorry to pre-empt...I say knock out some LOTR... there's tons of shit there. Liv Tyler's role and the complete script change to increase the importance of her role...Gimli...the ease with which the ghost people overcame the bad guys...They could have saved a lot of time, nevermind the buildup, and just sent Aragorn into make the deal..and been done with it. All in all a great set of movies...but some of that crap I just could have done without. Honestly, Gimli and Liv Tyler are the real aspects that annoyed me the most.
