For the shaving, instead of soap, try (hair) conditioner. I used to give my girls all my unwanted conditioners, but I keep one that's really thick and use it instead of soap or a shower gel. It makes the shaving really easy, helps keep the cut close and I have much less irritation when shaving the bikini/pubic area.
