Atheism is not a religion. Quit trying equate it to one, so as to try to make a subtle assertion that the atheist is simply a hypocrite with rebel-without-a-cause syndrome. An atheist simply doesn't believe in a deity. Period. After that, there's a lot of other things an atheist might be. A nihilist. A humanist. A rationalist. A lot of stuff. What they are is someone who doesn't believe in a god. This really isn't that tough.
