While I mostly agree with Shaindra's post regargind induction of lactation, there are always exceptions to the 'rule'.
There are many precription drugs such as Risperidone (anti-psychotic) and Domperidone which are so-called galactalogues which can actually cause lactation de-novo. Interestingly enough, there are a number of anti-psychotic drugs that all have small occurrences of galactorrhea as a side-effect. Most likely as a result of the drug's secondary metabolite being a galactalogue.
As a side note, an episode of "House" (somewhat) recently featured the use of Risperidone on a patient to stimulate lactation in breast tissue which was in her knee. While the TV depiction was somewhat accurate (ie. swollen tissue) the needle-in-the-knee to extract milk thing bothered me. Yes, I -am- a med. snob when it comes to this show
