The political refugee argument is a farce. Any Cuban who crosses the 80 miles of ocean to Key West, for whatever reason, and touches US soil is given asylum....no questions asked. Those stopped before reaching US shores are sent back.

Beyond that, the US policy towards Cuba for the last 50 years is a joke. It had little effect on the Castro regime and simply opened the door to every other nation in the world to trade with Cuba ....while we hypocritically establish trade and diplomatic relations with China, Vietnam, etc.
