It's a supply-demand thing. Nothing's taken from the baby; the extra utilization would create a greater supply.
That being said, I've nursed all three of mine for a minimum of a year apiece. I agree that the first time felt stimulating, but that disappears as milk production increases and the experience itself causes the bond with that baby to grow.
Despite the fact that you're not supposed to menstruate while lactating, I did each of the three times (lucky me, right?
). Needless to say, there was some breastmilk tasted. My nipples are still my nipples and I had no problem being a mom and a lover at the same time. Since nipple stimulation is important for me, I didn't see the act of him suckling at my breast as juvenile in any way.
