Del (John Candy) is driving late at night and Neal (Steve Martin) is sleeping. Del gets his coat caught and in the process of trying to release it does a complete 180 on an on ramp. They end up driving down the interstate in the wrong direction. A car, across the median, sees them and starts shouting "Hey, you're going the wrong way!" Del wakes up and hears them, then turns to Neal and says "they say we're going the wrong way?" Neal replies "how the hell do they know where we're going?"

"Ya, how would they know that?"

Seconds later they're looking at the oncoming headlights of two semi trucks. Sparks fly, Neal sees Del as the devil and then they both, briefly, turn into skeletons.
