So after days of being pulled to several friends who NEED this fixed or that looked at I decided to take a day and head into Merida. Merida is a beautiful city with some amazing architecture. Several churches date to the early 1500's and were built using stone from the local Mayan pyramids. I thought I'd see about snapping some shots to post here. As I left I notice a hint of gray on the far off horizon. I made it about 10mins into a 30min trek and the sky let loose like God himself (or her, your pick) opened a valve. He must have also turned on a fan as the wind suddenly made driving more then a mere simple task. So I headed back to the beach, passing several accidents along the way. No serious injuries noted, fender benders and unhappy wet people exchanging words and insurance info.
After shuttering the house I had a bite of lunch. The rain stopped and I walked down to the beach for these quick shots:

Every morning around 0200 fishermen ride their bikes down to these boat and row out for the days catch.

Coconuts liter the ground around this tree. For some reason they are extremely bitter. Easy to obtain, taste like shit. Funny how life works sometimes.

Immediately after this shot the sky opened again and I headed home.
Just another shitty day in paradise.
