I've been on the ring for nearly 3 years now, and I only ran into problems when I was using it to purposefully mess up my period (I would leave the ring in for 4 weeks instead of 3--which is safe, my doctor has told me so--but after about 6 months of that, my uterus freaked out in the middle of the cycle and bled heavily for about 6 days!). Other than that, I think it's absolutely fantastic. The first few months were not different because I had switched directly from the patch (which I had been on for a year, and THAT screwed me up badly). So I'm a big fan of the ring, still.
