Their downward spiral started long before Marbury's arrival. It really began when they fired Ernie Grunfeld and Dave Cheketts, and their replacements have gone from bad to worse.
Scott Layden had none of the basketball savy that his father has, making one bad deal for another. Ewing for Rice and some other scrubs, Spreewell for Van Horn, Camby for McDyess, signing Houston to a $120m contract (which was more than what Shaq in his prime was getting from the Lakers), I could go on and on with the damage he did to this franchise.
Thomas, on the other hand, had me fooled because he obviously knows how to pick talent, but apparently, that's all he's good at.

Cameron originally envisioned the Terminator as a small, unremarkable man, giving it the ability to blend in more easily. As a result, his first choice for the part was Lance Henriksen. O. J. Simpson was on the shortlist but Cameron did not think that such a nice guy could be a ruthless killer.
