It was awesome. Our skies cleared up after a late afternoon flurry so we had a great view. It was cold out but I think we got a bit warmed by the mystical event. ...well, it's not really a mystery, but seems mystical anyway.

Looking at the moon is fun at any time, but my favorite is looking at a thin crescent moon, since the terminator, which is the border between the lit and dark moon parts of the moon, allow you to see shadows on the sides of one mountain or crater while the other side is lit up. It gives you a more 3-D effect than just looking at the bright full moon.
I love looking with my telescope, but even a half decent pair of binoculars is great ...not to mention, when scanning the sky with a binocular you will find all sorts of very cool star clusters and nebulae ...if you do a little research as to what you can find before you go looking.
Hey, this question crossed my mind so I looked it up and I think it's interesting. The surface temp of the moon changes from about 107C to 123C when fully lit, down to about -153C when in the dark.
