One of my teammates got expelled from university for firing an extinguisher in a dorm room for the exact same reason. The excuse: While smoking in the rooms is not allowed, the lung damage caused by inhaling extinguisher fumes poses a more immediate and serious health risk than second hand smoke.
In my opinion both are total douchebags, the boyfriend and the girlfriend.
