Wow great argument there, I know people who abuse it therefore it isn't medicine. I used to work closely with individuals who were in closed custody correctional setting (jail.) Many of these folks would attempt to abuse just about anything. Cough syrups such as Nyquil were a favorite. And you don't have to go to prison to find people abusing medication-

People abuse all kinds of medications- Anit-depression meds, Pain meds, cough meds, sleeping pills. Are these all not medications too?
The US governemnts current position is marijuana does not have any medical propose. That's extremely odd considering they still supply, for medical purposes, a handful of patients with the drug. This is an older article it's states 7 people but I think the current number is 5-

If it's not a medication while are they still growing and suppling it to these people?
The Fed's postion is also odd when you consider the FDA approved Marinol-
http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=6635 Basically a pill form of one of the main active ingredients of marijuana. It's alomost like the Feds are willing to call it medication if the pharmaceutical company are able to profit from it, but if you can grow it yourself? Well, then it's really bad for you.
And for the record, no I don't use marijuana. But I would if I thought I would benefit from it.
