There is no reason to wear a full suit... But you should.
Stay away blue or black. Find a nice dark gray suit. No double breasted. Only David Letterman can pull that look off. Three or four buttons. And for the love of god make sure the pants are flat front. Pleats are the worst thing to ever happen to pants. Oh and no cuff. That makes me cringe. No white dress shirt. Find a good red wine or plum color. Black tie. No design. And if you can swing it... a little handkerchief in your front coat pocket that doesn't match anything. Black shoes. Make sure they are freshly shined. And as an added touch... find socks that match your handkerchief. I'm thinking lime green.
