We usually do keep some water beside the bed so she can have a quick rinse but if it's a spur of the moment thing I have no problem with it either.

Exactly. I pretty much ensure she has a glass of water, though as we all can figure if she starts it I'm not going to stop her from doing it.
One girl gave me a surprise mouthful, I really didn't like it. Every other girl has swallowed/spit and I'm completely game. It's not like I send her to go brush her teeth, and gargle with bleach before I'll kiss her again. I just don't want the mouthful.
