Absolutely. I have to agree with this.

From my personal experience:

- Taking the time to learn all you can about things you use (appliances, vehicles, house features like the furnace, etc) can really save you time and trouble when something goes wrong with them.

(For example: I learned everything I could about the components of computers through research, and taking them apart. Now I have a little side business where I build custom computers for people for nearly the same price you can buy one at a retailer! Except my computer will last longer, and I provide maintenance and instructions on maintenance.)

- Being open-minded and trying new things (whatever they may be) generally produce positive results, and are damn attractive to men!
