Just posted this in another thread. But its my favorite, so here we go. It also shows how cheaters never win.
Albert Belle, Cleveland Indians, 1994 at the White Sox. White Sox manager orders bat (not broken) of Albert Belle to be confiscated and placed in the locked umpires room at the stadium. It is. Knowing he is screwed, the Indians send in a relief pitcher through the ceiling, into the umpires room with an uncorked bat. The best part is, Albert Belle didn't even have an uncorked bat with him on the trip. Not a one. So the pitcher replaced it with another guys bat. Imagine the umpires surprise.
So why don't cheaters ever win in this case? Albert's back and hips fell off not long after leaving the Indians, while he is still a young man. Poetic justice.
