I get a similar thing on occasion. Its a loud buzzing sound that gets me, as if a bee or fly has flown into my ear, and i jerk awake. It always seems to happen as im drifting off.
I remember someone telling me it was that Myoclonic jerk thing.
This thread has also reminded me that i had a nightmare last night, and for the life of me i cant remember what it was about
