For me if the movie holds my attention and I really enjoy it and the characters, when subject of death + father relationship is brought up there is potential. I thought The Armagedon scene at the end was sad. It was this combination in the Last Samauri that was pushing the buttons. When Dreams May Come had a scene where the character is at the gates of hell with his son I thought was sad. From me it is always death; representing the end or the last time the person or animal will ever seen or experienced. Visual media if done well can bring me in, unlike reading a book which has never invoked much emotion, only interest.
will, I challenge you to watch Go Into the Light without any distractions and not get choked up even a little. Like I said every guy in the room was not able to hold it together. Understand allot these men appeared to be the kind of guys that would never admit to crying at a movie. Everyone was pissed they showed it.
